Budget and operational responsibility (~US$45M) for Motorola Solution’s regional IT infrastructure.Developing and implementing a strategic roadmap for technologies and services in consultation with the business.Supplier management with an emphasis on the governance of outsource providers and contract management for regional suppliers.Provide consulting and guidance to business units on the effective user of IT as it related to their go to market strategy.Key projects delivered: • Managed wide area network in Asia using multi-protocol label switching (MPLS) technology – most recently in 2011.• Delivering telecom expense management in several countries in from 2010 to 2012.• Design and implementation of network and telephony for Motorola campus in WangJing, Beijing – including an implementation of an IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) based telephony solution – in 2004. This was the topic of a presentation at the Gartner business process management (BPM) summit in Washington DC in 2008.• Design and implementation of network and telephony for smaller Motorola sites (Tokyo, Japan, Shanghai, PRC) in 2005.• Led the Asia portion of infrastructure work during merger, acquisition and divestiture programs including the acquisition of Symbol Technologies (in 2007), the divestiture of the automotive (to Continental AG in 2006), the spinoff of the mobility business (into Motorola Mobility in 2011), and the sale of the network infrastructure business (to Nokia Siemens Networks in 2012).• Managed the deployment of virtualised solutions to address resiliency and scalability issues with manufacturing and engineering applications most recently in 2012.• Led the implementation globally of solutions to ensure the high availability of Motorola’s supply chain locations in 2005.• Implementation of a managed video conferencing solution in 2012 that helped reduce travel expenses significantly.
