I create, edit and manage content for the monthly magazines Chevy Chaser and Southsider Magazines, which focus on lifestyle, culture and community in Lexington, Kentucky. Additional tasks include assigning and managing photo shoots; assisting art director on the layout; website maintenance and upkeep; managing a user-submitted online community calendar; overseeing invoices and annual editorial calendar.

I serve as the editor-in-chief of tadoo.com, an events-based arts & culture website for the Lexington, Ky. area. Along with a team at Smiley Pete and Chris Rosenthal Graphic Design, I helped conceptualize the website and oversee the day-to-day upkeep of the site and its weekly email newsletter.I maintain an active role in the web maintenance as well as overseeing revenue and both managing and assisting our sales reps with ad management and sponsorships, and assist in the promotion of / management of the monthly "happy hour" style community "tadoo lounge sessions," which feature live music, food, beverages and more.

I oversaw the marketing and PR for annual outdoor event Picnic with the Pops, a 5,000+ attendee annual outdoor concert in the idyllic Kentucky locale Keeneland featuring the Lexington Philharmonic and a special guest artist each year. Responsibilities for this government-appointed volunteer position included email marketing, ticketing, graphic design, ad buying, scheduling media appearances, managing a marketing schedule and team, helping oversee postcard mailings, table renewals and more.

Boomslang (R.I.P.) was an annual multi-venue music & arts festival that I founded in 2009, and continued to curate and co-direct each year during its 5-year inception. Presented by the University of Kentucky student-run radio station WRFL 88.1, the festival exemplified the "outside the box" spirit of college radio, presenting dozens of experimental and progressive acts each year in genres ranging from jazz to electronic, metal to hip hop, garage rock to psychedelic. Music acts included The Jesus & Mary Chain, Blonde Redhead, Jeff Mangum, Swans, Faust, Mission of Burma, Glass Candy, Ty Segall, Clinic, ADULT., Rhys Chatham, Atlas Sound, Negativland, Psychedelic Furs, Saul Williams, Youth Lagoon, Tom Tom Club, Das Racist, Cloud Nothings, Wolf Eyes, Chelsea Wolfe, Saint Vitus, Sao Paulo Underground and dozens of others. www.boomslangfest.com.In addition to music, the festival featured dozens of "satellite events," featuring film, visual art, fashion, literary readings and other events that highlighted Lexington's "outside the box" community of artists and art lovers, encouraging cross-disciplinary community collaboration and exploration.
