At the forefront of genomic innovation in agriculture, my role as Assistant Professor at MBUST and Scientist at Nhugen has been a catalyst for change in the field of plant biotechnology. With expertise in genome editing, specifically CRISPR technology, I have led significant projects (University Grants Commission Collaborative Research and Innovation Grant) with the ultimate goal of transforming crop resilience and productivity. Our team's work focuses on the genome editing of rice, a staple food source with immense impact on food security in Nepal.My tenure at Nhugen has not only been about advancing research but also about cultivating the next generation of scientists. As an Adjunct Assistant Professor faculty member at Central Department of Biotechnology, Tribhuvan University, I have had the privilege to guide postgraduate students in their thesis research while actively leading the University Grants Commission Entrepreneurship Support Program. These roles reflect my commitment to scientific excellence and my dedication to fostering an ecosystem of innovation, modern education, science diplomacy and entrepreneurship in biotechnology.
