My formative years at KRVIA- Mumbai (Kamala Raheja Vidyanidhi Institute for Architecture & Environmental Studies) allowed for self-expression in design while being assisted and guided by great mentors. In 2002, I won the KRVIA Gold Medal for best student and subsequently the Mumbai University Gold Medal. Post my thesis, I joined SJK Architects as an intern in December 2001, and have since then celebrated my journey this far under the guidance of my mentor- Shimul Javeri Kadri. There has been no looking back since then, encapsulating an enriching 20+ years of experience cutting across various scales, genres, building typologies, diverse sites and clients. My passion and constant endeavour to improve be it design, minutest details, specifications or maintain a high quality execution at every stage is infectious and drives my team at SJK. Over the years, few of my landmark projects at SJK include creating a brand identity for Fabindia’s flagship home store at Kalaghoda, the award winning office building for Nirvana Films in Bangalore which won the WAF Award (Small Project) in 2012, FutureArc-Singapore in 2012 & EDC-USA in 2012, the Dasavatara Hotel in Tirupati which was awarded with the 2016 French Pris Versailles award for Architecture & Interiors. Last few have been very exciting for me with varied nature of projects: a 100-bed Community Multi speciality Hospital in Raigad, a Luxury apartment building in Chennai, weekend homes in Alibaug & a Museum for Jain Heritage in Ahmedabad, Public Pavilions in the Shatrunjay hills at Palitana, Educational campus buildings that comprise of Hostels, Academic blocks and Dining facilities, that I am heading with a bunch of enthusiastic and passionate team players. I had been awarded the iGen 2017 for my contribution to design and I strongly believe that with the right attitude and immense passion, any challenge can be created into opportunities. My constant quest for learning and exploring has made me a nature lover and bird watching enthusiast. I find my solace in nature and whenever time permits, I try to experience the jungle with my bright & curious teenage daughter.
