I specialise in social innovation, food systems and knowledge sharing. I lead the 'Mapping Urban Driven Innovations in Sustainable Food Systems' project in collaboration with the City of Sydney. I'm working to bridge the gap between academic research and public communication through creative communication tools like podcasts and learning the art of story-telling. I've got strong networks in the food and agriculture sector across enterprises, organisations, individual entrepreneurs and policy makers. I have recently made submissions to the NSW Parliament Inquiry into Food production and supply in NSW (2022) and the Federal Inquiry into food security in Australia (2023). My professional background includes >10 years work with the United Nations (missions and agencies), Office of Development Effectiveness (DFAT), and major Non-for-Project Organisations in the international community development space.Current Research:I'm a lead researcher on : [a] Knowledge Sharing amongst Farmers in collaboration with Southern Cross University and farmer-led cooperatives [Soil CRC]; [b] Social and Economic Benefits of Regenerative Agriculture in collaboration [Soil CRC and Soils for Life]. My past research has considered the ways that people (specifically peasants) adapt, integrate or resist government led biodiesel development programs in Brazil and Timor-Leste.
