During my one-year internship at IFS, I gained extensive hands-on experience in Cloud Computing, DevOps practices, and CI/CD, applying these skills to large-scale applications in a real-world environment. My key contributions include:∙ Implemented quality gates for builds in IFS Applications ERP to ensure high standards.∙ Enhanced the flexibility and clarity of existing bash/shell scripts by converting them to Python.∙ Investigated and developed a dynamic solution to generate Bitbucket reports using the Kubernetes Python Client.∙ Implemented Behave tests for every pipeline and task to improve quality assurance.∙ Restructured the CI solution for IFS Applications ERP by redesigning the pipeline architecture. Implemented a fully automated solution by removing redundant activities and optimizing control over the steps of the each pipeline.∙ Contributed to the development of the next-generation multi-tenant platform for IFS, enabling AI/ML and other services deployment. I built pipelines for multi-platform (arm64/amd64) Docker images, Helm charts, and pushed them to the relevant Azure Container Registries, signing them for improved supply chain security.Additionally, I was involved in the governance of the Bitbucket workspace, participated in, and conducted knowledge-transfer sessions and, most importantly documented all the developments that I have carried out in Confluence for future use. This internship provided me with a valuable opportunity to align with industry standards and effectively work in an Agile environment.

For the 7th consecutive year, the Rotaract Club of IIT is organizing Project Haxmas. Haxmas 2023 is a combination of a Hackathon and an Ideathon. In addition, a series of seminars and webinars will be held prior to the final hackathon. Haxmas 2023 brings together teams of undergraduates and will provide them with an opportunity to bring forward their innovative ideas. They will be guided through the development phase so that they could grow their knowledge to showcase their innovative skills and implementations in one platform. They would work on the development and implementation phase of their ideas. Implementations would be assisted by feedback from mentors. As the Event-in-charge of the Haxmas 2023, I am working on planning the event from the scratch and making this event a success.

The Rotaract Club of IIT started the project "Voice for the Voiceless," also known as V4V, which has been functioning as a community service initiative of the club. The main objective of this project is to end animal cruelty by influencing people to change their ways, and where we can be a voice for them. As the project chair of Voice for the Voiceless for the years 2022/2023, I had the opportunity to be a part of this amazing social service, which fills the stomachs of innocent animals and our hearts with happiness.

As a part of the IT Team of the Club, we are responsible for all IT-related tasks, including the development and maintenance of websites for each project.

The Blog Team of the Club is responsible for all the content and captions writing within the club. As a part of it, I got the opportunity to write blogs, content, and captions for social media posters for the years 2022/2023.

As the Reporting Head of the house, my role is to engage with the members and increase the participation count for the events.

Project parallax is a 24h UI/UX hackathon introduced by the Rotaract club of IIT in the year 2020. Its’ main objective is to provide an opportunity for the gifted undergraduates of Sri Lanka to showcase their talents in designing and coding websites of high quality in a competition. As the Event-in-charge, my task was to help in organizing the event and looking for sponsorship. In the year 2022, 99x collaborated with us to make this event a success.

Project Lifeline was an initiative introduced by the Community Service avenue of the Rotaract Club of IIT in order to help out individuals with their mental health. There are many individuals who need support with their mental health but do not have the access to the necessary resources. To adhere to this issue Project Lifeline was introduced. As a committee member of the project, my role was to identify the people and organizations, that need this project and approach them. This year, we approached to few rehabilitation centres and made their day with joy and happiness.

The Secretarial Team of IEEE-CS is responsible for handling all the content, captions, and email writing within the club. I started my volunteering journey in IEEE-CS on January 2022 and had the opportunity to volunteer on more projects and events which supported me to improve my soft skills.

CodeRally 4.0 is a global hackathon which is a dynamic and inclusive platform that empowers undergraduate student groups worldwide to harness the power of trending technologies. Through a three-phase approach, aims to inspire collaboration, foster innovation, and nurture problem-solving skills. By organizing an AI-based LLM workshop and providing mentorship throughout the 24-hour buildathon, strives to equip participants with the knowledge and resources necessary to excel in the tech industry. With a focus on promoting creativity and embracing new ideas, encourages participants to develop groundbreaking solutions that address real-world challenges. Ultimately, seeks to cultivate a global community of passionate learners, fostering a spirit of exploration and driving positive change through technology. By volunteering as the Team Lead of the Program & Logistics team, I got the opportunity to use my knowledge and skills to make this event a success. Even though I have organized hackathons before, this is a new challenge and an experience for me since it is dealing with a global audience. I am ready to overcome this challenge with my fellow teammates, who are dedicated to making this a successful event.

IndustPro 2.0 is an event with the intention of converting undergraduates at the Informatics Institute Of Technology into young professionals before they are joined to the industry. IndustPro covers the basic prior skills which an IT professional should possess, such as pre-preparation for an interview, facing interviews, writing CVs, reviewing CVs, and Ted Talks by young entrepreneurs for the industrial placement in the third year. With the volunteering experience of IndustPro 1.0, I got the opportunity to work as the Editorial Team Lead of IndustPro 2.0. Within that role, I had the chance to work with an amazing team that always keeps a positive energy throughout the entire event.

OpenHack is a three-phase event consisting of an Ideathon, a Designthon, and a Hackathon. As a creative writer, I volunteered for this event as a secretarial team volunteer and got the opportunity to write eye-catching social media captions and content.

As Editorial Team Lead of the event, I worked with the team on making the project proposal, caption writing, and writing the email contents. Due to the conclusion of the club year, this event was postponed despite that all preparations had been organized.

IndustPro is an Initiative event with the intention of converting undergraduates at the Informatics Institute Of Technology into young professionals before they are joined to the industry. As a part of the organizing committee, I volunteered under the secretarial team. This was my first volunteering experience in the IEEE-CS journey and I learnt a lot from it including organizing an event, reaching out and communicating with companies, and more.
