Welcome to my profile. I am Joy Sarkar, an Assistant Professor at the Department of Textile Engineering (TE) at Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET). I have dedicated my academic and professional career to advancing the field of textile engineering, focusing on sustainable practices and innovative solutions for the Ready-Made Garments (RMG) sector, which plays a pivotal role in Bangladesh's economy.I hold a Bachelor of Science in Textile Engineering from Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTex), where I am pursuing my M.Sc. Additionally, I have completed an M.Sc. in Environmental Science and Management from the Bangladesh University of Professionals. My academic journey has equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of the textile industry's technical and environmental aspects.Before joining KUET, I gained valuable industry experience as a merchandiser at Opex and Sinha Textile Group, where I developed insights into the textile sector's operational challenges and market dynamics. I then transitioned into academia, starting as a Lecturer at the World University of Bangladesh, where I honed my teaching and research skills.My work is driven by the belief that to sustain Bangladesh's leading position in the global RMG market, it is essential to produce competent textile engineers who are well-versed in modern technologies and sustainable practices.
