Bijoy SARKER is a Public Health Nutritionist. He is currently working as Nutrition Technical Advisor with Save the Children International (SCI) global Humanitarian Surge Team (HST-GEHSP). Before SCI, he worked as SMART Regional Advisor for Asia with Action Against Hunger (ACF) Canada for three years, Nutrition Cluster Co-Lead & Nutrition Surveillance Head of Department with ACF in Afghanistan mission for one year and as Roving Nutrition and Health Expert covering seven Asian countries for another one year. He worked as Health and Nutrition Head of Department in Sierra Leone mission for six months and one year in South Sudan. He also worked with UNICEF for nearly 6 months, World Vision for 2.5 years and with ACF BD mission for three years. He graduated in Nutrition and Food Science (B.Sc. Honors) from University of Dhaka in 2009 and after then completed his post-graduation degree on Master of Public Health (MPH major in Epidemiology) from North South University in 2013. Mr. Bijoy also completed Post Graduation Diploma on Disaster Management (PGDDM) from University of Dhaka in 2014. He has expertise in IMAM/CMAM, PD Hearth, IYCF, Growth Monitoring and Promotion (GMP), SMART & SQUEAC Methodologies, Proposal Writing, Donor Reporting, Coordination, Capacity Building, Nutrition Mainstreaming in health system and several others area of community nutrition. Mr. Bijoy has represented himself as an active member in different national level nutrition forums and platforms like CSA for SUN, Nutrition Cluster, Nutrition Working Group , Rapid Nutrition Assessment Team etc.Mr. Bijoy has extensive experience in Design Monitoring and Evaluation of integrated nutrition programming. Apart from usual developmental nutrition program for host communities, Mr. Bijoy has hands-on experience of working in emergency nutrition programs (South Sudan, Sierra Leone, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Yemen) and refugee/IDP communities (Rohingya, Nuer, Afghan). He was also member of SAG in Nutrition Cluster, CMAM/IYCF TWG, Nutrition Information WG and several other national level platform and forum on Nutrition in South Sudan, Bangladesh, Sierra Leone, Afghanistan as well as currently in Yemen.
