Professor Bingyun Sun’s Lab

• Investigated the growth of the Chinese hamster ovary cells in different kinds of treatment and control media by performing cell culture.
• Examined the migration assay rates of the cells in different cell culture media.
• Analyzed the cytosolic, mitochondrial, and nuclear proteins by conducting the Bradford assay, and the SDS-page electrophoresis. Maintained the cell lines of CHO cells.

Professor Tony William’s Lab

• Demonstrated active learning by observing the supervisor, to perform husbandry of the zebra finches and setting up breeding boxes, water feeders and seed feeders.
• Performed venipuncture to collect the blood samples from the birds to process them for research. Processed the blood samples for hemoglobin concentration using ELISA and examined the red blood cells for their morphology.

• Generated multiple data sets to support the manuscript publication of the lead HER2 bispecific antibody therapeutic candidate of the company by performing cytotoxicity and ligand stimulation assays on several mammalian.
• Processed mammalian and mouse syngeneic tumor samples to study protease activity in tumor microenvironment in comparison to that of normal tissue samples.
• Developed a high-throughput protease based kinetic assay to study unmasking of the therapeutic candidates using Octet system by ForteBio.
• Efficiently prioritized, designed and performed functional cell-based assays such as drug efficacy, cell viability, ELISA, cell sensitivity and enzyme activity, both independently and collaboratively.
• Independently maintained up to 12 different mammalian cancer cell lines at a time to continuously support assays performed by the Oncology department, contributing to the company’s long-term goal of developing cancer.
• Maintained an organized electronic lab notebook to document lab activities and submitted entries in a timely manner to ensure all projects in the company are well documented and ready for meetings and presentations.

• Designed and executed Colony-forming unit (CFU) Assays on bone marrow derived hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs) to evaluate toxicity of candidate therapeutics as a part of several pre-clinical in vitro.
• Developed application and assay design (AAD) studies on human, rat, canine, and mouse to contribute towards potential assay services of the department.
• Precisely enumerated myeloid and erythroid progenitor colonies manually for the determination of IC50/EC50 and IC90/EC90 values by plotting dose responsive curves.
• Authored CFU Assay webinars for prospective clients to expand the service products by effective marketing techniques.
