I have always taken pride in my contributions, whether it is household budget management, taking lead on a school assignment or fundraising for community causes. It gives me a sense of accomplishment and worth. International business brings value to countries in the form of new products and services, new ideas and knowledge and shares culture; this is why I sincerely want a career in international business, so I can keep providing value to society. Some of my fondest memories are those in which I opened and operated my own business as a youth and have been awaiting formal business training ever since. When I was 17 years old, I started an import/export business, where I would purchase foreign fashion and redistribute the merchandise throughout the EU. One of the challenges I faced was dealing with varying exchange rates. To overcome this challenge, I decided to work in harder currencies, such as USD. From this moment, I knew I wanted to participate in international transactions.I am highly self-motivated and comfortable in leadership positions. I have been teaching private snowboarding lessons since 2016, where I helped people reach their potential. I was president of the Harvard Business Review club [2017], where I coached approximately 20 people on how to improve their writing process for publication in the Harvard Business Review periodical for Istanbul teenagers. I have also been involved in my school's student council, assisting with organizing events, preparing speeches, and substantial fundraising. These experiences gave me plenty of opportunities to demonstrate my problem-solving abilities, practical communication skills and decision-making skills. I am very personable and possess a strong work ethic. These skills allow me to thrive in a team environment. I have been commended by my teachers on my innovative, out-of-the-box way of thinking when dealing with cases.Socially, I am well-suited for international business and management. I usually find myself taking charge and being the one others count on for direction. I highly enjoy teaching others and helping them grow. I naturally assume the risk of leadership, and I am known to excite others to reach their goals. I have been an assistant for my business teacher in terms of running study groups and creating a community of note-sharing online on my own initiative. I hold a deep passion for economics, which will greatly aid my ability to analyze situations and most effectively allocate my scarce resources accordingly.
