Profile bio

About Sarra Rashid

Experienced young professional with a demonstrated history of volunteering and working in the mental health care industry. Bilingual in French and English.I firmly believe that we each have an important role to play in deconstructing the stigma and barriers to accessing support for our mental health. Over the last 10 years, I have made it my mission to contribute toward building a world where mental health is recognized in the same capacity as physical health. My volunteer and work experience with remote peer support platforms, counselling agencies and mental health organizations have helped me discover my passion for this work and develop skills in active & empathetic listening, peer support, crisis intervention, counselling, community engagement and mentoring. My goals include pursuing graduate studies in Counselling Psychology in order to work directly with individuals who are facing mental health challenges. I have a particular interest in working with specific populations who face unique challenges and stigma; for example, those living with Borderline Personality Disorder, Complex-PTSD, etc.
