    Master’s Thesis Project - IIT Kharagpur (August 2017 - April 2018)Enhancement in Thermal Conductivity of Copper Nanofluids Guide: Prof. Jayanta Chakraborty∙ Both 3D and 1D nanostuctures have been employed to check the thermal enhancement∙ Nanoparticles have shown 6% enhancement at 0.6%v/v in ethylene glycol as base liquid∙ Nanowires have shown 1.9% & 2.9% enhancement at 0.042%v/v in water & ethylene glycol∙ Linear dependence in thermal conductivity has been observed for increasing nanowire concentration∙ The thermal conductivity was analysed using KD2 Pro Thermal Properties analyserBachelor’s Thesis Project - IIT Kharagpur (May 2016 - April 2017)Fabrication of Copper Nanowires based Transparent Conducting Films Guide: Prof. Jayanta Chakraborty∙ Developed an economic non toxic alternative for ITO films.∙ New method was devised to synthesize copper nanowires of 50-100 nm dia. and 30-50 𝜇m length∙ Conductive ink was developed using Copper Nanowires and ethanol as base∙ Glass substrates were coated with the ink using spin, dip coating, drop casting & Meyer’s Rod∙ The glasses created showed a sheet resistance of 50 ohm/sq and a transparency of 90%∙ Alloy Nanowire with 20% nickel coating & copper core was developed to eradicate the oxidation
