Ru practices securities law at a global rating organization, focusing in structured finance transactions. She reviews public and private offering documents and drafts SEC-required reports for a broad range of asset-backed securities—CLO, ABS, CMBS, RMBS, and ABCP. Prior to her current post, Ru honed her legal skills at a boutique firm specializing in estate and tax planning where she advised clients on probate, asset distribution, and gift taxation. Ru graduated from Villanova University School of Law in May 2020 where she was the recipient of the Dean Merit Scholarship. While at Villanova, she was an active board member of the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association and of Tax Law Society. She was also elected to the Jeffrey S. Moorad Sports Law Journal through a summer writing competition. During her second year at Villanova, Ru and her partner successfully represented and advocated for asylum status for four clients at Clinic for Asylum, Refugee & Emigrant Services (CARES). Before graduating from Villanova, Ru completed her summer internship at the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office where she represented the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in preliminary trials.
