Cogeneration Design Engineer
Engineered and managed the construction of large tri-generation installations for commercial and industrial sites. I was responsible for detailed mechanical design of cogeneration/trigeneration plants, including mechanical system design, selection of key plant and equipment such as the generator, absorption chiller and other auxiliary plant, layout of plant and equipment, and producing tender packs including Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID), general arrangement drawing, mechanical specification and equipment schedule. Other responsibilities included evaluating tender responses prior to award of contract and developing high-level control specification for the plants which covered staging of plant, interface with BMS, control logic for electro-mechanical valves, pumps and other safety devices. I also conducted technical due diligence on new plant and equipment imported from India, China & Europe and was responsible for ensuring that the plant and equipment and the installation overall was compliant with Australian standards.Achievements- Mechanical/control design for 13 co-generation/tri-generation plants ranging in size from 400kW to 6MW, with an installation cost ranging from $800k to $6M.- Developed designs that were scalable, modular and transferable to new sites, leading to short design lead times and decreased risk. - Conducted technical due diligence of absorption chillers from India, China and Europe, and worked with the successful manufacturers to modify equipment to suit Australian standards and conditions.
Mechanical Engineering Manager
