My home on the Florida coast gave me a beautiful view of the sunrise. My school campus in India was in a valley surrounded by the towering, snow-capped Himalaya mountains. Thousands of miles from home, I still enjoyed the sunrise as it crested the Himalayas. The sun’s journey became a lesson and motivator to me in my professional life as a builder of businesses. The hours before sunrise represent the unseen hours of preparation and persistence it takes to grow a business to profitability, and beyond. The sunrise over the Himalayas are a reminder that success can be found and made nearly anywhere in the world: the sun was doing its work long beforehand, yet the sun was only visible to us humans, when it had ascended high enough in the sky, above the Himalayan peaks.
