Leading the Green building Strategy, which incorporates sustainability into planning, design, construction, retrofitting, communications and day-to-day operations. The Green building strategy is a collaboration between the Office of Sustainability and Facilities & Operations. The Green Building Strategy Goals:• Increase the number of buildings that hold a valid green certification.• Improve information systems, organizational processes, and project management methods related to green building planning, documentation and certification.• Educate building occupants, visitors and the campus population about our green building design, technologies and featuresAlso leading a team of 7 people as STARS Project Manager, preparing the University of Alberta’s 2017 STARS submission.Selected Accomplishments:• BOMA BEST (re-)certified 22 buildings in 18 months (previous rate of certification was 3-4 buildings a year)• Building SIMS – Sustainable Information Management System, which houses all UAlberta Green Building information.• Automating LEED, Green Globes and BOMA BEST certification reducing certification time by up to 50%.• Won 2 TOBY Awards for Triffo Hall – Historical category (Local and National level, 2016)• Won BOMA Edmonton’s Chairman’s Award 2017 for the leadership demonstrated by the extra effort and dedication in Alberta, Canada and internationally.

In order to do this an improvement is made to existing ESL literature which enables users to make a better estimation of the service life that is to be expected. This results in a model that can be used by all actors at important moments in the building life cycle.
