I am a mechanical engineer (BEng) with experience in the aerospace, nutraceutical, and offshore marine industries.I am passionate about vintage vehicles and machinery, and space exploration.I am determined to steer my career in a direction that allows me combine my passions and my work, and so make the best of my potential. In this regard I have focused my attention on Europe.I hold South African and German citizenships, and can speak and write the English, German, and Afrikaans languages.I am skilled in Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Machine Design, the English language, and Written Communication. I have accumulated substantial hands-on experience working on machines which required a fundamental understanding of their design, and careful setup. Some examples are: the complete restoration of a 1946 Willys Jeep, the development of an automated hard-shell capsule processing machine, the assembly and mechanical testing of SATCOM antenna hardware, and most recently the design and AIT of the newly developed Spectrum launch vehicle at Isar Aerospace.I obtained my bachelors degree in mechanical engineering with a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) elective from Stellenbosch University in 2018.My undergraduate thesis studied the lift and drag performance of a novel paraglider leading edge design. To this end, a two-component force transducer was designed and successfully employed in a large sub-sonic wind tunnel to assess the potential of the aerofoil design, with a rigid aerofoil assumption. The aerofoils tested were manufactured by FDM 3D printing.
