CeoSenseer Health Inc. Jan 2018 - PresentPasadena, California, UsTo address the high failure rate of certain implantable devices, Senseer Health develops wirelessly-controlled, implantable micro sensors technologies that can be combined with devices such as catheters, shunts, or grafts in order to make these devices smart. Our technology enables remote tracking of devices status, thus enabling alerting and timely intervention before a complete device failure occurs. Our team's initial focus is on hydrocephalus, a severe neurological disease that affects over 1M people in the US alone, including ~600,000 pediatric patients. The most common treatment for hydrocephalus is the surgical insertion of a drainage system, called a shunt, to drain excess cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) from the patient's brain. These devices, however, fail at an extremely high rate, oftentimes exceeding 40% within the first year of implantation, rapidly leading to permanent brain damage, if not being addressed in time. -
