As a Presidential Management Fellow and key driver of strategic initiatives at the U.S. Small Business Administration, I have dedicated over 15 years to advancing SBA’s mission through strategic capital allocation, ecosystem development, and risk management. My expertise spans private equity, venture capital, venture debt, private credit, and unitranche funds, as well as program development and operational efficiency. This broad experience has allowed me to deliver measurable results while maintaining rigorous program standards and fiscal responsibility.I have allocated capital to over 100 funds across private equity, venture capital, and credit strategies, deploying $5 billion and achieving a 100% investment approval rate at the committee with no losses to date. During this time, I reduced fund review times from three months to two weeks, eliminating backlogs and enabling faster funding decisions. I also contributed to growing SBA’s assets under management from $13 billion to nearly $60 billion, expanding funding opportunities for underserved communities while maintaining exceptional performance standards. My efforts to increase diversity in fund allocations further strengthened outcomes without lowering program standards, improving portfolio quality and reducing losses.In addition to my allocator role, I designed and implemented an ecosystem bridging SBA’s SBIR/STTR and SBIC programs, facilitating the commercialization of technologies critical to national security and global competitiveness. I also proposed and developed automation solutions to modernize OCRM’s risk assessment processes, streamlining reviews and improving decision-making accuracy.Beyond these contributions, I have collaborated with DOD, DOE, DFC, NIH, and Treasury on cross-agency initiatives, advanced SBA’s financial stability through secondary sales and securitizations in OFA, and successfully lobbied for application fee increases to cover administrative costs with industry support. I have delivered speaking engagements at over 50 private equity and alternative asset conferences on topics ranging from fund strategy to public-private partnerships.I believe government programs must operate with the same innovation, precision, and accountability as the private sector. By fostering collaboration, streamlining processes, and leveraging technology, I focus on creating solutions that empower small businesses, strengthen underserved communities, and drive meaningful outcomes.
