Sasha’s duties of being a GA consists of maintenance work of manikins, health devices (i.e., chester chest, IV blood arms, oxygen tubing,etc.), troubleshooting WiFi/Ethernet connections from computer to manikin, creation of simulation scenarios on Laerdal, set-up and tear down of a scenario, creation of moulage for disaster simulation, and checking that the control board of camera works in each room. To add, she also helps with inventory of supplies that are used for simulation and for other events that might be occurring with the simulation center. Sasha has been able to work independently when needed and contributes to a team that is responsible for running the simulation center as smoothly as possible. Sasha has worked with multiple nursing faculty to ensure that scenarios are set and ready for the students to begin their simulation for the day and the skills lab is ready to go.“The Graduate Assistant Simulation Technologist will provide technical and mechanical support for the Maverick Family Nursing Simulation Center. Becoming trained in industry standards and established best practice as a part of the position, this individual will become responsible for helping to maintain and sustain the audiovisual equipment, inventory, support, maintenance and setup, computer software support, as well as the care of the manikins and other equipment used in the simulation program. Reports to the Academic Simulation Coordinator. Will work in collaboration with the Workforce Simulation Coordinator, Technology Director for the College of Allied Health & Nursing, Simulation Special Projects Manager, and other Simulation Center technical staff as well as faculty who teach using simulation.”
