During the Summer of 2019 I secured a paid intern position at KPMG. This gave me valuable experience working with one of the global professional services leader in the accounting area. KPMG offered me training in Excel, Powerpoint and MS Word at the start of my internship, which I then used to support one of the Directors as he dealt with audit client requirements. In addition to the client facing and account management activity, which drew on my degree knowledge, I also experienced KPMG's charitable response to local communities and worked with the larger team to give something back to those less fortunate. This out of office experience was useful to the team and helped us gel and respond more cohesively when against time constraints. In all, my internship was a valuable experience that has wetted my appetite for corporate clinet facing consultancy. KPMG offered me a training contract following the completion of my degree, which further confirmed my success and their desire to have me join their company.
