Direct, manage, structure, and develop a newly funded tutoring program serving the South LA community. Plan, coordinate, and execute community events to engage partner schools and strengthen community relations. Assist Director of Development with grant proposals. Assist students in better understanding foundation year course content and theories. Teach graduate academic writing with an emphasis in grammar and style, APA format, and organizational structure. Organize and hold weekly group sessions at UPC to assist and tutor students in SOWK 562 (Research Methods). Cover concepts including research design, sampling, measurement, data collection, and data analysis, as well as help with individual research portfolios.

Provided individual and group psychotherapy services to culturally-diverse adult population. Contractually monitored clients under the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG). Tasks included budget analysis and monitoring, program development and implementation, case management, audit preparation, and organizational duties.

Employed a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media to teach at-risk 18 to 24-year-olds at the Los Angeles Conservation Corps’ accredited charter school. Developed and informed students of reasonable rules and maintained appropriate classroom procedures and behavior. Assessed the actions of students in a variety of ways on a regular basis and provided timely progress reports.

Assisted Education majors through email, over the phone, and in person with inquiries regarding the Chalk and Wire database. Assisted with paper work, copying, filing, and record keeping of over 150 student profiles.
