My name is Sasha, but what does that have to do with anything?! What does it even mean. By definition the name means, 'helper and defender of mankind', and so far I have lived up to that name. This trait has been showcased beautifully in my 3 years of experience in the Illinois Cannabis Industry.I thrive working with people and my flexing my knowledge of cannabinoids, terpenes, and strains. Advocating, educating, advising, building relationships with my teammates as well as patients and customers through my cannabis and product knowledge. Speaking of 'product knowledge', I am open to trying anything new- new strains, new cultivators, new isolated cannabinoids, new methods of consumption- so that I can provide real and honest feedback to my peers, patients, and customers. I personally feel responsible for the other's well being, when it comes to cannabis.My personal cannabis research using the plant as medicine, began prior to even medical legalization in Illinois. I did my own personal research through experimentation, reading books and studies, online, as well as through trips to Amsterdam. When I joined the industry, I added product knowledge, budtender training, and vendor presentations to my growing list of reliable resources to add to my "nuggets" of knowledge. I watched the Illinois cannabis legalization "roll"out and evolve from decriminalization to medically legal, to recreational use. Being a part of it all is nothing short of a blessing! The relationships I have built and people I have helped have been the greatest reward. Especially after years of trying to eliminate the stigma that goes with being an advocate for the use of cannabis- not just for myself, but also for millions of other people who would walk into the dispensary, whispering their troubles to me and being afraid to even ASK if they could, not only purchase, but be counselled on cannabis- Well, these poor people still felt like criminals. I ease their mind. I speak factually, but with empathy and consideration. By the time my patient/customer is walking out of the door, they are no longer timid, as I provided a smooth, accurate, and compliant encounter. I give everyone the same 5-star service. When you are in the industry you see that even, 'your first-grade soccer coach' for example, likes to kick back with a joint, every now and then!! People from all walks of life and different backgrounds come in. Everyone is equally important to me, and I demand the nothing but the best from the person in the mirror and for the person across from me- peer, patient, or customer, alike!
