I've built a varied career across institutional investing, global public policy, and journalism. It gives me energy to be "right in the middle of the action," whether that be working with clients on portfolio design or thinking through implications of big global macro events. My favorite days are when I can be truly helpful to those with whom I interact — I sometimes see things from a unique perspective, given my work across nearly every asset class in an institutional client portfolio and some areas completely outside of finance (investing is my second career, and I think this makes me better!). I love being a resource to others in this industry; I have been working for a long time, and it is time to give back :).I am passionate about talent pipeline development for investing, especially from underrepresented groups, and am active in this space with the Investment Diversity Advisory Council and others. Fun fact: I have worked with many of the same clients for 10+ years. They remember (sometimes better than I do!) my start in investing and life pre-kids.I currently oversee credit client solutions in the West for KKR, spanning both public and private credit. I feel lucky to focus on my favorite segment of the market, fixed income, working with some of the largest institutional clients in the US. Before KKR, I was Head of Institutional- West for Ninety One, a global $160 billion investment manager founded in Africa and headquartered in London. Ninety One was an amazing experience that took me to Africa twice and helped me forge close relationships with colleagues around the world. Prior, I was a key point person for California and West public plans for PIMCO. Before PIMCO, I had another career! I worked extensively on climate policy and other international public policy at Harvard and also was a business reporter for the Boston Globe. I truly believe this variety of experience makes me think differently. In my non-work life, I enjoy hiking, travel, food and spending time with a close group of friends and family. In a good week, you will find me at pool potlucks on Friday nights with our neighbors. Ask me to share the crazy story of how I became a runner (hint - it involves helicopters, lions, and a safari reserve in Kenya)! Favorite recent trip: Vietnam (we took our kiddos and they loved it).If you are a student/early career professional interested in investment management, please join the Investment Talent Development Collaborative LinkedIn group: https://www.linkedin.com/groups/14483923/
