About Saskia Hadewegg Scheffer
As a Partner in PwC’s Tax practice, I combine my professional passion for innovation and technology with extensive experience in the area of indirect taxes (VAT, Customs & Excise duties, Energy Taxes and emerging legislation such as the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism). My ambition is to help clients leverage technology to manage an increasing number of taxes and reporting requirements in an efficient and effective way.Whether clients need support with emerging legislation in the field of ESG (e.g. CBAM), to increase control over their compliance processes or getting tax requirements set up in new ERP systems, along with a team of fantastic colleagues, I will help out. Whether it is the implementation of a robot in the tax compliance area, the use of market standard data analytics and visualisation software to gain insights in tax exposures and opportunities or leveraging an ERP cloud implementation for tax determination, I am convinced every client can leverage technology to work towards their specific goals. My clients are mainly globally operating enterprises active in the Energy (Oil & Gas), Utilities and Resources (Chemicals & Mining) industry. Client projects include:- (Indirect) Tax process reviews. Creating status and improvement reports focusing on different areas such as process controls, leveraging technology (e.g. ERP mapping improvements, tax determination engines, data analysis, compliance software, RPA);- Creation of tax technology and transformation roadmaps. Covering areas such as people (e.g. fit for future skills and capabilities), coverage (e.g. global vs regional), innovation & technology (e.g. alignment with IT roadmaps and leveraging new technology), sourcing models (e.g. outsourcing, insourcing, off shoring). - Tax transaction mappings for ERP and tax determination engine implementations.In my work I aim to act as a trusted business advisor. Working with our team of dedicated Indirect Tax & Technology professionals, I provide fit-for-purpose, practical advice and support to my clients.
