Women in International Security Netherlands is dedicated to advancing the leadership and professional development of women in the field of international peace and security. WIIS (pronounced “wise”) sponsors leadership training, mentoring, and networking programs as well as substantive events focused on current policy problems. WIIS also supports research projects and policy engagement initiatives on critical international security issues, including the nexus between gender and security. We are a chapter affiliate of WIIS Global.

As ClioMind’s chairwoman I was responsible for chairing a commission focused on activities that enhance study skills and offer study support. In particular, my commission was in charge of organizing the booksale, as well as workshops on essay writing and presentational skills, educational movie viewings and superlectures as part of the exam preparation.

I was part of the Introduction Committee as Commissioner Location and Logistics/PR. My tasks included setting up an excursion to the Hague and Brussels for 50 students, through contacting e.g. institutions, companies and embassies, arranging lunch/dinner opportunities and transportation. The final activity of the Introduction Committee is the Introduction Camp, where I helped creating introductory activities for the incoming students, the scheduling of these activities during the weekend, and provided logistic support during the weekend. I also contacted restaurants and was responsible for the setting up of the Freshmen Dinner. Next to my organizational tasks, I was also able to contribute creatively by making the necessary promo material for all above mentioned activities.

As ambassador of my high school's delegation, I was responsible for preparing my fellow delegates and representing the country as a whole in the opening and closing ceremony of the The Hague International Model of the United Nations. Moreover, during the conference I helped my fellow delegates in acting in accordance with our mission statement and oversaw the negotiation of deals within different committees.

By simulating the United Nations in committees such as GA 2 on Economic and Financial issues, as well as GA3 on Humanitarian and Social issues, I have garnered experience in drafting resolutions and the process of negotiations.
