I got to help with various projects within marketing and publicity, and learn about many different roles within the publishing sector. This was an excellent opportunity for me to learn some of the basic skills that are needed to succeed within the field and allowed me to meet some amazing Penguin employees who were extremely helpful and welcoming! My tasks included familiarising myself with biblio, writing pitch letters, helping with campaigns and collating lists of relevant influencers to send recent publications to.

First point of contact on the shop floor for customers in the womenswear department, working in shoes, jewellery, clothes and lingerie. I learnt many skills at John Lewis including how to give excellent customer service and how to excel in a job where you work both independently and in a team solving problems. Not only did this job require quick-thinking, but it also required versatility as you could be called to anywhere in the store at any point if you were needed. For the past three years I have been returning during my breaks from University.
