I keep my divergent brain fresh and engaged by focussing on two core topicsLearning and Change Management, and Coaching for Personal Empowerment. I try to further the field by using design principles and exploring how multimedia, stories, games and online or long distance solutions can truly accelerate and support learning in practice, on the job and in face-to-face training. My background in mediastudies and cognition helps me bring a fresh perspective to the field, and I do my best to keep up with the latest scientific insights on how learning happens in the brain and in social spaces, and how learning design can be more inclusive. While designing I look for solutions that:-address the core of the issue-are accessible, attractive and fun-support reflection and decision-making in the work process-help to create safe, inclusive and supportive learning environments around the participants.I like to use a wide variety of models, means and methods in my work. I also love to work with others because I believe complex issues can best be solved by working together across the boundaries of our respective disciplines. I've specialized in concept development for video (and some other multimedia) - especially when applied to learning, development, motivation and change.
