CONSTRUCTION LAW• Assisting owners, general contractors, sub-trades and construction lenders with builders lien claims, including filing and discharging liens against land and holdback funds.•Assisting clients with deficiency claims, including mechanical, electrical, roofing, building code and building envelope related deficiencies, and working with experts and engineers in various fields regarding deficiency claims.• Assisting clients with delay, productivity and acceleration claims.• Assisting clients with construction contract disputes, including standard form Canadian construction contracts.• Assisting clients with professional negligence claims.• Assisting clients with surety and lien bond claims.INSURANCE LAW• Assisting insurance companies with the defence of their insureds' claims, including construction developers and trades, product manufacturers and distributors, motor vehicle owners and drivers, and property owners, landlords and tenants.• Defending complex property damage claims, including loss by fire and related perils, and claims involving technical subject matters, including heavy machinery and building envelope related issues.• Defending complex bodily injury claims, including traumatic brain injury, orthopaedic injury and psychological/psychiatric injuries.• Assisting insureds on multi-party liquor liability, construction claims, and product liability claims, including class action lawsuits.• Providing insurance coverage advice for commercial general liability, E&O and homeowners policies, as well as acting for insurers in coverage disputes.• Prosecuting subrogated claims on behalf of insurance companies, including warranty program recovery claims.
