Satish Kini has always been upbeat about India and Indians. He is missionary about promoting sustainable social transformation in India. He believes that to transform lives of millions of underprivileged and underserved population in India, it is essential to change outdated beliefs and mindsets at Management & Govt Policymaking levels. It is important to adopt efficient processes and innovative delivery models to make basic services like Health & Education ACCESSIBLE & AFFORDABLE to the poorest incorporating state of the art ICT Technologies. After a 7 year stint with IDM in1980s, a decade of practising Management consulting in1990s, Kini decided to be an entrepreneur.Between 2001 & 2003, Kini acquired 3 Healthcare IT companies to form 21st Century Health Management Solutions (21CHMS). By 2010, 21CHMS emerged as one of India’s most respected healthcare consulting and informatics company enabling medium & large Hospitals, chains of Pathology Labs and Diagnostic Centers in India, Middle East & Africa significantly scale up and improve their services. In Nov 2010, Mr Kini was conferred the prestigious Indira Gandhi Priyadarshini Award for his thought leadership in healthcare management.In Jan 2011, Mr Kini divested his stakes in 21CHMS and took up the role of COO- Nation Building Mission of PanIIT Alumni, an NGO set up by IIT Alumni . His focus was to institutionalise the process of IITians giving back to their community and country. During his term (2011-12) as the first COO of PanIIT, Kini made dramatic changes in Paniit functioning . He proactively supported 7 IITian led innovative interventions in Education, Skill Building, Entrepreneurship & Health for rural & urban poor. Since his term in PanIIT, Satish Kini has accepted an advisory role in IITian promoted IvyCap Ventures , indiaa largest domestic VC fund with over Rs 4000 crs . Mr Satish Kini is an Alumni of IITB Bombay (1971-76) and Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies ( 1979-81) and IIM-A (MDP -1988) .
