Program Director, Due Regard Radar (DRR)Product: Air-to-air multi-channel radar, part of a Sense and Avoid (SAA) system designed for collision avoidance with non-cooperative aircraft. The Product is comprised of two major sub-components: a Radar Electronics Assembly (REA) & an Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA).Role: Responsible for defining the product roadmap vision, procuring internal/customer funding, developing customer base, and executing the project to meet business and performance objectives. • Leading a 3-year $45m R&D initiative within the company, developing an air-to-air collision avoidance radar that is a key component of a Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Sense and Avoid (SAA) solution. This is a critical technology to facilitate integration of UAS into airspaces that they cannot currently operate in, like the National Airspace System (NAS) and over international waters. • Led the 45-person team to two highly successful UAS flights. These are the World’s first ever flights of a collision avoidance air-to-air radar on a UAS. • Leading business development efforts, marketing the solution to the armed forces and actively soliciting Government funding. • Brought in transformational change to the program by changing the culture to be more result-oriented, reorganizing based on product-focused Integrated Product Teams (IPT) & by putting the right people in leadership roles.

Product -> Next generation multi-channel radars capable of detecting dismounts (people) and vehicles in Ground Moving Target Indicator (GMTI) mode, in addition to high-resolution Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) area maps.Role -> Technical Director, responsible for running all aspects of the program, with the emphasis on providing technical direction and executing all next generation radar projects to meet business and performance objectives• Successfully led a multi-million dollar product development initiative (both internal and customer funded) through various stages of development, eventually transitioning the radar to Production • Led a large cross-functional 35-person team, comprised of project, hardware, software, systems and flight test engineers organized as Integrated Product Teams (IPT). • Drove efficiency through the engineering management and personnel, getting the program back on track. Turned around a floundering program and executed it ahead of schedule and within budget. • Overcoming significant technical and logistical challenges, orchestrated successful demonstrations of the dismount detection capability to key Government customers, leading to follow-on contracts for deployment• Led the effort to shape the future radar development roadmap, relentlessly pursuing a compromise between divergent camps.

Products -> 5.5/7.4 micron pixel HD cameras built for the multi-sensor payload (MTS) on Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV)Role -> Program, Technical and Product Line Management serving as primary customer interface• Picked up responsibility of a struggling program and turned it around in 3 months, fixing a hitherto rocky relationship with customer, clearing misgivings and re-establishing trust• Successfully met contractual deliverables of prototype cameras to customer, establishing GA as the front-runner for winning Production contract

Products -> Driver-free commercial wireless USB and 1080p/60 Hz wireless High Definition (HD) video cable replacement Ultra-Wideband (UWB) chipset and reference designsRole -> Program, Engineering and Product Line Management with Profit & Loss responsibility* Took nascent ideas for wireless video and USB from conception to production readiness, piloting the team successfully through development of architecture and specifications, creation of discrete prototypes, development of RF/digital chipsets & reference designs, and establishment of customer relationships*Led development of successive spins of UWB digital chipset. Developed architecture & digital RTL logic for several key pieces of the chip, notably wireless USB algorithms for link maintenance & key sections of the audiovisual datapath. Led validation of digital design through simulation testbenches and FPGA debug.* Managed entire ASIC design flow process, including RTL development, simulation/FPGA validation, back end integration, foundry fabrication, chip packaging and characterization* Led development, testing and integration of multiple generations of GA UWB RF chipsets. Managed the complex back-end house, foundry, technology-partner vendor relationships to deliver chips in a timely fashion.* Led development and qualification of wireless USB and SD/HD video reference designs with ODM partners in Taiwan.*Created product roadmap vision based on identified market opportunities and continued to refine it based on customer feedback and changing market needs. Product -> UWB chipset for wireless video* Tested the Physical (PHY) layer FPGA implementation using logic analyzers, helping identify and resolve bugs* Implemented Media Access Control (MAC) layer code blocks in C++ and Assembly on an ARM processor

Role -> Implement manufacturing and financial ERP solutions at client locations, provide Production support. * Within three months of learning the Oracle ERP system, took on the role of providing support single-handedly to the Production operations of an automobile component manufacturer* Resolved day-to-day technical and workflow problems in the Oracle suite of applications, including production planning, accounts receivable/payable & order entry.* Improved the efficiency of Production Line operators by automating tedious manual tasks, implementing technical enhancements to Oracle’s applications* Studied the business processes of the clients, and suggested ways and means of implementing it using Oracle applications* Mentored and guided entry-level programmers* Wrote Developer/2000 Forms/Reports & code implementations in PL/SQL & Java
