My career journey begins with data centre business.I was employed with only trust, not experience. Exposed to critical data centre business functions and operations handling, as well as customer service management. I struggled at first, but with a great leader’s guidance, I managed to overcome the challenges well and was therefore given another great opportunity to manage an approx. 12,000 sq. ft. data hall in terms of operations handling and facility management.An opportunity knock, similar but major in scope, where I was exposed to project coordination and sub-service deliveries on top of operations handling. Years passed successfully, with greater responsibility.Again, another different approach within the same organization after close to 10 years of data centre operations experience: occupational safety and health.The journey kicked off with zero experience but high passion. The management has given me the opportunity with the fullest trust, training, and guidance. It was not an easy drive, and unlike data centre operations, these were to safely coordinate million-dollar high-risk projects. It opened me up to be better, and I gained experience and accomplishment as an Occupational Safety and Health Advisor/Cum Manager with a proven track record of promoting optimal health and safety culture in industrial spaces from ground zero.My skills in processes and procedures were put to another level of testing. I began to identify and improvise main and substandard processes while managing safety matters based on industry best practices. Bringing forth an in-depth understanding of contractor management aimed at improving safe work processes and functions as well as establishing and ensuring optimal workflow and efficient production in the service industry.My successful advice plans and programs, plus my interest in developing processes and procedures, caught my management's attention, and I was given additional roles in the business continuity management function.And here I am now.
