Worked as a buy side fundamental equity research analyst covering a diverse mix of companies in pharmaceuticals, agriculture (agri commodities, agri inputs), real estate and textiles sectors. Job responsibilities included - generating investment ideas, devising hedging strategies, identifying pair trades and tracking/managing portfolio. During my stint with Venus, I was covering around 100 companies at a given point of time, and identified several multi beggars in large-cap and mid-cap space.

I was engaged in fundamental equity research and analysis of agriculture (sugar, rice and edible oil) and textiles sectors. My job responsibilities included preparing financial models (including forecasting/projections and valuations), writing reports (such as Initiating coverage, sector/thematic reports, result updates, and industry/company updates), and consulting fund managers (institutional clients) on investment ideas and portfolio management. I also used to have frequent interactions and meetings with C-Suite corporate managers on their business strategy and plans. The job provided me an opportunity to build strong network with institutional fund managers, business associations and bodies, and corporate managers, while giving me an intensive exposure to understand business closely.
