Data is pushed and requested from this database using data server between the progress and non-progress database. Crystal reports access the SQL database for our client reporting. Our web service & MQ middle-ware application also access this database. Helped design and implement MLService (Java based application) to receive web service requests and call progress appserver to execute progress business objects.

Soft Cell maintains direct sales offices in Belgium,; The SC Business Applications are a range of industry specific ERP solutions (EFAS) available in 5 European languages. My job involved Analyzing customer's requirements and preparing a proposal with budget time and cost. Then Programming, Testing & Implementation of these customization at the customer sites. Migration of customer's customized programs between two versions of the ERP. Preparing builds that have the patches for the bugs rectified in the standard programs. (The ERP had maintenance programs in Full GUI and rest of the module was in CHUI). It also had trading activities with companies like Boehringer Mannheim, Roche, Stryker, Boots, Reckitt Coleman and others. NPIL had installed MFG/PRO (Manufacturing, Purchase, and Financial s) at all its manufacturing sites. But for its Sales and Distribution a totally customized package in progress 7.3 ver. was created that was integrated into MFG/PRO. The whole module was designed with future integration of this module into MFG/PRO and implemented at 16 sites around India. All the sites were connected to Bombay via satellite and monthly data was transferred to Bombay for MIS purpose. The same package with specific changes was implemented for the trading activities, which had additional modules like costing and purchase. The system handled the following things: Receiving stocks from the manufacturing site, input of sales orders and stock allocation to distributors with an on-line accounts receivable. Providing sales forecast and budgets for the sales people and generating relevant reports. Uploading and downloading data with full validation is the feature of this package. Data from Individual Sales depots was consolidated at the Head office for generating of the monthly MIS. Costing and Purchase related activities for the trading companies. It had tracking software for local shipments developed in FoxPro 2.6 for pickup and delivery points and on Oracle 7.0 for centralized data consolidation. Proof of delivery tracking system of shipments received and to be dispatched. The system handled the following things: Entry of Airway bills and Pod's at the pickup centers and HUB and consolidation of the data at the Head office. Delivery data for the respective locations were automatically dispatched by the system through WAN all over India. At the same time receive POD details from the respective locations and consolidate it at the Head office. Generating of relevant reports.
