Led the engineering scope of work for the Space Shuttle Flight Operations & Integration, leading to the Certification of Flight Readiness. Provided technical oversight to the Design Loads Cycles and Verification Analysis for the Integrated Space Shuttle Vehicle, encompassing transient dynamics, quasi-static analysis, and structural integrity for all flight events. Managed the Avionics, Electrical Engineering, Structural & Mechanical Engineering, and Trajectory Design Data Package (TDDP) teams for the Space Shuttle Flight Operations & Integration.Coordinated chalking out of the transition strategies and executing the change management plans for workforce redeployment, to position for the Space Shuttle retirement. Inter-Divisional Projects:Managed the R&D project portfolio for Airport and Critical Infrastructure Security Architecture Concepts, for Boeing Global Security Systems. Led the customer engagement, product development, and market shaping.

Led the matrix engineering organization with 7 managers and 120 engineers, with $30M+ department budget to support the Space Shuttle, International Space Station, and Constellation programs. Participated on the Boeing-NASA tag-ups to identify the future technology needs of the customer, and positioned the Boeing Long Range Technology Plan (LRTP) for the Space Exploration division.Executed Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and re-engineered the International Space Station (ISS) prime structure’s Structural Integrity Analysis for new flight attitudes. Reduced the cycle time for analysis by more than 50%. Led the Integrated Product Team to perform clean sheet design of the Roll Control System (RoCS) and the Reaction Control System (RCS) of the Ares I launch vehicle. Achieved 20% weight reduction from the baseline targets by using composite sandwich fairings, and dynamic isolation concepts.

Managed the Space Shuttle Payload Integration engineering effort of $10M+ annual budget with 4 managers and 50 engineers. Managed the sustaining (cost+) as well as provisioning (fixed-price) projects for Shuttle Flight Operations and Integration. Consistently exceeded award fee targets. Provided technical oversight to the Integrated Vehicle Analysis for the Space Shuttle, encompassing transient dynamics, quasi-static analysis, and structural integrity for the flight events including pad-stay, liftoff, ascent, max Q, Max G, stage separation, on-orbit prox-ops, descent, and landing. Provided engineering release for the integration milestones such as compatibility review, payload readiness review, and flight readiness review, leading to the Certification of Flight Readiness (CoFR) for Commit to Flight.Led the program transition for Space Shuttle Integration teams from Huntington Beach to Houston. Led the product development of Graphite Composite structural elements in the Space Shuttle Orbiter Mid-Deck. Achieved the target weight savings of 600 lb.Developed processes for automating stress, stability and fracture analysis for the logistics carriers, and achieved a cycle time reduction of 75% for the integrated Micro Pressure Logistics Module (MPLM).

As a consultant from Altair Engineering, made pioneering contributions to set up the CAE processes for Noise Vibration and Harshness (NVH) analysis on the World Jeep project. Worked on the Jeep Grand Cherokee 2000 complete design cycle. Performed requirements integration, concept evaluations, detailed design and design-optimizations. Worked closely with production teams in the concurrent-engineering-setup.

Performed structural dynamics analysis of the Space Shuttle integrated vehicle for flight events encompassing liftoff, ascent, on-orbit, descent and landing. Developed NASTRAN Direct Matrix Abstraction Programs for sub-structuring, coupling, transient dynamics and recoveries. Conducted random vibration analysis to capture dynamic responses of Experiment Support Systems to verify the structural integrity margins.
