As Chief Operating Officer of Support Elders I'am responsible for complete ownership of Internal organization and outputs. It entails consulting,designing, maintaining and improving the operational modusoperandi of the organisation and creating a sustainable ecosystem with external and internal components.The core quality and the spirit of the role demands from me a balance between design comprehensiveness and effective delivery with speed.

As the Head of HR function for the Group, I was primarily responsible for the short and long term planning for the HR function. This means leading strategically and tactically in the areas of HR strategies, wage and salary administration, associate and employee relations, benefits, workforce training and development and local diversity initiatives. I was responsible for leading, developing, and engaging the entire employee base on a PAN India basis and was responsible for aligning them with the corporate strategy designed to maintain and carry out the Company's position as the market leader.

As the pater familias of the TA Group - East, my role was equivalent to that of the CEO. I was the sole in-charge of all financial as well administrative decisions for the entire Group.In summarize it, I would say my responsibilities included :• Manpower Planning, Entitlements and Authorization, Budget Management and Training of personnel.• Operational and administrative functioning of 12 Territorial Army Battalion deployed all along the Eastern Borders.• Providing aid to civil administration for law and order and during natural calamities as a part of ‘CITIZEN ARMY’ necessitating close and intimate coordination with Indian Railways, Hospital Authorities and State government authorities.

I was handpicked and appointed at a very sensitive post related to Information System.Considering the sensitivity of the JD, I can describe my role in a nutshell as below:• Responsible for implementation of Info System facilitating technical evaluation of the system and training of personnel.• Evaluation of hardware, software and ancillaries to ensure best value of money.• Responsible for Media Management especially during natural calamities.

I was appointed as the Brigade Commander. As the Commander, I was responsible for leading as well as effective managing the soldiers in that Brigade (Close to 8000).My primary responsibilities included:• Responsible for maintaining the operational and administrative efficiency of all units over 4000 troops.• Management of the entire supply chain to ensure uninterrupted and timely supply of ammunition, rations, water, petroleum products during operational war exercises and disaster situation. • Dynamic leadership, team building effective administration and training of subordinates.• Conducting a VVIP visits also an important function of the appointment.

Have had two tenures as Instructor in Weapons, Ballistics and Tactics in the School of Artillery, Deolali which is considered the ‘Alma Matter’ of the Artillery.

• Handpicked to be the Advisor to Senior Most Army Officer in Eastern Theatre.• Accompanying the Senior Officer in all official tours within the country and abroad and keep record of all arrangement and fix engagements with dignitaries on required basis.• Impart impartial and unbiased advice on important military matters both operational and logistics.• Constant liaison with senior government officials, police officials and other government organization in the Eastern zone.• Collate information from all branch of the Command zone and provide condensed and comprehensive information facilitating the Senior Officer to take holistic decision on important matter

• Designing Logistics and Financial Management System for the entire Command Theatre of Integrated Ministry of Defence (Army).• Planning, budgeting, management and implementation of funds works, up to Rs 600 crore annually on various works, project and logistic related activities.• Planning the Major works project of the entire eastern theatre, keeping in view the existing assets and future requirements and ensuring implementation of the approved project in a phased manner.• Designing a roll in works activity of the theatre and there by liaising with government, semi government and private enterprises for its speedy implementation.• Train subordinates in all logistic and financial management matter on a regular basis.

• Tasked to provide comprehensive logistic support round the year to an operational force, comprising 20,000 men, 3000 vehicles and array of equipment deployed over a large area in different terrain.• Controlling and operating contracts round the year for provisioning of fresh supplies and hired transport from civil contractors.• Budgeting and management of funds for various logistics related activities. • Essayed the chief role for Security of the largest Logistics Support Area and having almost the entire repertoire of items in the inventory of the Indian army in terms of vehicles, weapons, equipment, ammunition, stores and rations. The landed cost of the repository items are several tens of thousands crores.• Responsible for security of movement of items worth 3-5 cores monthly from the logistics support area to other units and optimizing use of limited resources by continuous review and analysis of security functions.

• Designed and implemented training policies and programs for Senior Executives, Middle rung Personnel to work in a cordial environment to achieve the organizational goals.• Responsible to ensure effective logistic and administrative support to a large army force deployed in snowbound, extremely hostile, glaciated and avalanche prone areas where road communication was barely available for four months a year.• Planning, procurement, warehousing and provisioning of every conceivable essential commodity using varied means of transportation like mini trucks, helicopters, mules and porters/pannier.• Air freight/manifesting of goods and transients by helicopters/fixed wing aircraft during road closure period.• Management of the entire supply chain to ensure uninterrupted and timely supply of ammunition, rations, water, petroleum products and shares during operations war exercises and disaster situations.• Dynamic leadership, team building effective administrative and training of subordinates.• Establishing a modern amenity transit camp providing accommodation transport and food all around the year for troops at an altitude of 15,000 feet.

Having cleared the grueling entrance test, I was one of the proud cadets selected by the National Defense Academy (NDA).Started serving the Indian Army as a Second Lieutenant, and hung my boots as a Brigadier. The entire journey has been the say the least truly adventurous.Considering the time period being referred to here, I am not mentioning down all the positions I have been privileged to serve.To sum up the achievement during this period:• First group of Officer’s selected exclusively by Ministry of Defence to be inducted in Siachen Glacier in 1984.• Handpicked by Ministry of Defence to be Principal Staff Officer of the newly raised formation for counter insurgency in J&K. Thereafter again selected exclusively as Staff Officer for newly raised Specialized Division to plan and formulate the logistics policy and logistic supply chain. Subsequently again handpicked to be Military Advisor of Senior Most Army Officer in Eastern Command.• As Senior Staff Officer in the Eastern Theatre the utilization of funds allotted for works services reached an all time high of almost 90%, which was unprecedented.• Was selected for the prestigious "Staff College" in Wellington which hosts officers from all wings of the Ministry of Defence in India as well as abroad.
