About Saul Abbott

I am the owner and founder of Saul Abbott Garden Design, a company specialising in garden design & horticulture. I design and install gardens in London, Kent and the South & South East.I have 20 years industry experience, specifically designing front and back gardens, roof gardens and terraces, planting schemes for large spaces and country estates, container gardens, vegetable plots and planting in commercial spaces.Work has taken me to Eastern Canada (Toronto), Western Canada (Vancouver Island), India (an orphanage near Bengalaru - the blog address of which can be seen in my profile), Aveyron (the heart of the French countryside), the Pyrenees and Amsterdam. My 5-year-long role as Head Gardener and Designer for Botanica Garden Designs, a Garden Design business based in London, gave me the experience, knowledge and belief to become a Garden Designer in my own right. Designing and maintaining gardens for high profile clients was instrumental in teaching me how to offer 1st class service tailored precisely to my clients' needs.     Working on a freelance basis, i was a Team Leader, teaching Horticultural and Landscaping methods to long-term, unemployed young adults, mentoring them and giving them the skills and confidence to enter the industry and climb out of the difficult circumstances they found themselves in. This was one of the most rewarding positions i have ever had the fortune to find myself in and knowing that i was partly responsable for young adults climbing out of poverty and getting themselves onto the first rung of the ladder in our industry was incredibly humbling. I am still in touch with some of those ex-apprentices today and i still get a huge amount of satisfaction knowing that they are thriving in positions within our industry.
