NAHRO is dedicated to inspiring and engaging professionals in housing, community development, finance, government, and social services in collaboration with residents to create attainable and sustainable housing and communities for vulnerable families and individuals by striving to be the leading resource for affordable and subsidized housing and community development through innovative research, analysis, advocacy, professional development, and ethics.

COO for the U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development -The Office of the Deputy Secretary/Chief Operating Officer assists the Secretary in the administration of programs, functions, and authorities of the Department. This office oversees the day-to-day operations of the agency that include critical support functions such as human capital in leading the Department’s nearly 8,000 employees, financial management, procurement, and information technology. The COO plays a critical role in assisting the Department to establish and meet its strategic goals.

Led the Office of Community Planning and Development (CPD) seeks to develop viable communities by promoting integrated approaches that provide decent housing, a suitable living environment, and expand economic opportunities for low and moderate income persons. The primary means towards this end is the development of partnerships among all levels of government and the private sector, including for-profit and non-profit organization and to encourage empowerment of local residents by helping to give them a voice in the future of their neighborhoods; stimulate the creation of community based organizations; and enhance the management skills of existing organizations so they can achieve greater production capacity. Housing and community development are not viewed as separate programs, but rather as among the myriad elements that make up a comprehensive vision of community development. These groups are at the heart of a bottom-up housing and community development strategy.
