Worked with the Advanced Polymer Research Laboratory on my project: Electrochemical Characterization of Shape-Memory Polymer-Coated Interdigitated Electrodes in Vitro. Working with a team, I helped developed and analyzed a new approach to create implantable medical devices that could be used to study the nervous system and ultimately treat neurological diseases, such as Parkinson’s disease or Alzheimer’s disease. I was awarded as a 2016 Siemens Competition Regional Finalist.In the past, I worked with the UTD Nanotech Institute on my project: Raman Spectroscopy Comparative Study of the Vibrational Modes of Heterochiral UHMWPE Mandrel Coiled Artificial Muscles. I worked specifically with a Raman Spectrometer to examine artificial muscle fiber structure to determine the optimal composition.
