BUSINESSWOMAN HONORED FOR OUTSTANDING LEADERSHIPWASHINGTON, D.C. Feb. 5—Mr. Rooter multi-unit franchisee Saunda Kitchen today was honored for extraordinary leadership by the International Franchise Association’s Women’s Franchise Committee with the Crystal Compass during the association’s 50th annual convention, conducted in San Antonio. The IFA's Women's Franchise Committee bestows its Crystal Compass upon an individual within the franchising community who epitomizes the ideals of leadership. Recipients of the award have earned reputations for leadership by making significant contributions within their respective franchise organizations, the franchising community in general and in their local communities. Kitchen is a franchisee from California. She is currently secretary of the IFA’s Franchisee Forum and co-chairwoman of IFA’s Franchise Congress, an initiative to bolster the franchising industry’s advocacy efforts and ensure its voice is heard on key legislative and regulatory issues Kitchen has been involved with franchising since 1996. She has co-owned and operated various Dwyer Group brands to include Mr. Electric, Rainbow International Restoration and Mr. Rooter.The Kitchens’ franchises have earned Dwyer Group awards, including Top Gun, Market Penetration Leader, Excellence in Leadership, Excellence in Mentoring, Sales Leader of the Year, Franchisee of Year and the prestigious Don Dwyer Award of Excellence. She was named Woman of the Year for Mr. Rooter in 2008 and named to the Top 40 Under 40 Leaders of the North Bay in California in 2008.
