About Saurabh Bhaskar Shaw, Phd

With over 10 years of experience in neuroscience and biomedical engineering, I am passionate about applying machine learning tools to better understand the brain and to develop innovative neurotechnologies for diagnosing and treating neurological and psychological disorders. Most recently, I was a Senior Data Scientist at Cognixion, where I helped pioneer brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) that enable natural and intuitive communication for people with disabilities. I currently hold an Adjunct Research Professor position at Western University, where I conduct cutting-edge research applying AI to understand brain changes in relation to mental health. In addition, I am leading the development of the Neuroimaging microcredential for the Ontario-wide Neurotech Microcredential Program, a $1.3M grant-funded initiative that aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry in the emerging field of neurotechnology.

NeuroTech Hamilton (fondly known as NeuroTechHA) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to facilitate the advancement of neurotechnology by providing key resources and learning opportunities, bringing together research and industry, and by being leaders in local and world-wide technological initiatives. Initiated by a group of psychologists, neuroscientists, engineers, and health-related enthusiasts, NeuroTechHA is the Hamilton chapter in affiliation with the International Neurotechnology Network (https://neurotechx.com/). We have fostered Neurotechnology collaboration through numerous workshops, events and a major hackathon (read all about it at the link below).
