Lava got into a long term contract with GE healthcare to make integrated medical devices. I was called in to lead the team and to help them understand and implement the requirements.+ Understand the requirements (very different from a regular Android mobile) from GE team+ Technical assessment and coming up with a delivery plan+ Driving the team with complex Android system & framework changes to accomodate the requirements+ Working with GE team to make Lava mobile pass their extensive test plans

In my new role I was responsible for my team's delivery of the requirements and their growth as engineers.

Xolo was launched within Lava with a focus on technology & innovation for the millenial generation of India. We partnered with Intel, Nvidia and were first to launch the products made on their chipsets.It was Bangalore R&D office which was tasked with developing innovating and differentiating features for the Xolo line of products.My role as a Lead was to drive projects to success along with the team members. Also, I get to spend lots of time and efforts on discovering and researching differentiating features as well as users.+ Xolo Secure: Security and lost phone tracking app which used to work over SMS.Many users were able to find their lost phones with the help of the app.+ Device wide theme engine (Android at this time was not very pleasing to look at)+ Web service for hosting inidividual themes for the theme engine. Django with postgres running on GAEThis theme engine and Xolo custom app later became Hive UI. Hive partnered with many Indian artists to make some awesome there very well appreciated by the users.

Lava setup a R&D center for smart phones in Bangalore and I joined it. It was early days and we did lot of fun things.Fusion Music Player---------------------------------Top music player with 8M installs on Google Play Store.I was part of the core team which ideated the Fusion music player and took it to become one of the top music player in Play Store. There were good apps available on Play Store but we thought that there was space for a music player with integrated and wide ranging features.+ research including competion apps, user reviews, general app trends etc+ UI/UX design+ core feature development+ partnership with online service providers like Shoutcast, Last.fm etc+ implementation of extra music features like ID3 tags editing, mp3 sharing over Bluetooth, editing of music files as ringtone etc+ implementation of online music features like lyrics, music streaming, metadata and album art fetching, music file search and download, top charts etc+ youtube search and playack within Fusion+ writing blog post+ responding to user queries

This was my short stint with Sasken. Android was just coming up and they were looking to build relevant exptertise and teams.+ I ran few of day long training sessions on general Android architecture & devlopment + Porting of Android on TI hardware

Kyocera Wireless India was bought over by Mindtree and became Mindtree Wireless Pvt Ltd with a focus on to make Android mobile devices in India. I was part of the core team in deciding and evaluating hardware/software solutions with respect to the required features in the mobile. + Integration of "Wolfson Microelectronics" audio codec on Mindtree hardware+ Integration of STM modem with Mindtree hardware for the voice calls and data+ Worked with SCM team on setting up IBM Clearcase for source control and later on designed the documentation and training content

My role changes a bit here where I also get to help with the onboarding and mentoring of new team members and more inter team interactions.+ Implemented Android RIL (radio interface layer) for Kyocera CDMA/EVDO mobiles. As Android was GSM only at the time, this was 1st such attempt for CDMA. This RIL implementation later went on to become the default for KDDI/Kyocera mobiles in Japan.+ Lead various members from multiple teams on wide ranging feature implementations+ Partipated in Kyocera hackathon where we were able to port Linux kernel on a Kyocera mobile. This was the precursar of out team's involvement with Android

+ Design and development of a power-on profile for Bluetooth stack. This implemented the proper and deterministic power-on and power-off sequences for Bluetooth stack on Kyocera mobiles.+ Various carrier & device specific features like mobile IP retention on handoff for VMU, secure key generation etc+ Worked with Verifone on their Kyocera M2M integration for their credit card POS devices+ Lead various efforts for Kyocera mobiles' necessary certification requirements for various US mobile carriers

Started my carrier with Kyocera. I was part of the "Core Phone Software" team and my role was to focus on Data Services stack on Qualcomm CDMA mobile chipsets. I used to implement features, fix bugs and implement carrier specific requirements on various Kyocera mobiles. Most of the mobile carriers were in US/LATAM like Verizon, VMU, VIVO etc. + Involved lots of theoritical learning on TCP/IP and mobile data in general. Various RFCs and Qualcomm documentation+ Design and development of data abstraction layer for the apps+ Porting carrier specific requirements across various Qualcomm chipsets+ Documentation on various stages of feature development and intented for different teams. E.g. high level desigin, low level design, usage document etcTechnology used:- TCP/IP stack- PPP & RLP (Radio link protocol)- REX real time OS- Debugging using JTAG- Network emulation on Spirent
