My innate ability to observe patterns and my curiosity to seek out the story behind them led me to become a Data Scientist. In my career, I’ve demonstrated expertise in data visualization (Tableau, Power BI) and statistical modeling/analysis. Using statistics and ML models to build predictive and classification models is the best part for me because it makes the future less unpredictable. For team projects, I’ve always tried to place my team and myself out of the comfort zone. For example, at my last internship, Excel was being used to handle humongous amounts of data, which made creating reports very challenging. So, I urged my manager to update the data reporting system to Power BI, which increased efficiency by 90% by reducing time taken from 1 hour to 5 minutes..I love to pursue worthwhile projects. During my final year, I wanted to pursue an image segmentation project, whereas my teammates wanted to work on other topics. I took the time to make them realize the value of helping reduce medical expenses for patients, and got them onboard with the project. My short-term goal is to work as a Data Scientist/Analyst in an industry where I can give back to the community. In the long-term, I’d love to lead a team of like-minded Analysts who help the community and impactful organizations like WHO and the UN.In my free time, I like to cook and work out. Cooking is almost therapeutic for me; when I’m down, I cook something to cheer myself up and when I’m happy, I call my friends and cook something new for them. I love working out because it has taught me that if you are consistent, you will get the results.
