While at North Carolina State University, I was a web designer for the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and held the responsibility of updating the website. My time as a designer strengthened my opportunities to network with other students in my major. I also worked at Conceptualee as a Facilities Team Lead. My team of five engineers worked on a Multiplex Pick-Up container platform that will be used in third-world countries for agricultural purposes. I gained knowledge in AutoCAD and the fundamentals to design. Currently, I am a Distribution Engineer at Leidos. I have enhanced my knowledge of Power Delivery Systems by working on bringing efficient power to customers that include installing/removing/replacing poles and existing conductor lines. I have increased my communication skills, collaborated with others on projects, and gained experience in the power industry. This has aided in my overall development as a professional engineer and gained experience using MATLAB, SolidWorks, and PoleForeman. I look to further improve my skills as an engineer. My interest in Mechanical Engineering began when I was introduced to machinery in seventh grade while working at my uncle's auto shop. I was compelled by how the car engine components work in collaboration. Learning about the materials used and questioning their properties made me realize that Mechanical Engineering was the right fit.
