As a Senior Engineer on the AWS RDS team, I focused on optimizing database recovery processes to enhance performance and significantly reduce startup recovery times. These improvements effectively minimized customer downtime, ensuring higher availability and reliability of the service.

As a Senior Software Engineer at AWS Databases, I was responsible for architecting and implementing a scalable "Batch Ingestion" for AWS Timestream. This solution leveraged parallel processing, efficient data partitioning, and optimized resource allocation to ensure cost-efficient and high-performance loading of massive datasets. By addressing scalability bottlenecks and enhancing throughput, this innovation facilitated the seamless onboarding of numerous enterprise customers who had previously encountered limitations, thereby significantly expanding AWS Timestream's market adoption and customer base.

As a Distributed Databases Engineer on Timestream's ingestion path team, I was instrumental in scaling the systems to handle high-volume data ingestion, ensuring they met performance and reliability standards. I played a pivotal role in the successful delivery of the new "Backup and Restore" feature, which enables customers to perform both automated and on-demand backups of terabytes of data. This feature was designed with a strong emphasis on cost efficiency and performance optimization, leveraging advanced algorithms and storage techniques to minimize overhead and maximize speed.

Worked as core team member of Amazon Lockers team that provides a pickup point capability for orders placed on Amazon retail.

I was part of AWS SimpleDB team which is the first NoSQL Database offering from AWS.

I was part of the platforms and Search infrastructure Team.Built a in-house, fault-tolerant distributed data stream for high throughput workloads using open source message buses like Kafka. This component can expose any queue interface via HTTP, the language of the web. The design is Extensible with robust retry semantics & finer control over job processing with the ability to pause, resume, throttle a data stream.

I was part of the platforms team responsible for building & maintaining low-level critical infrastructure for the firm. I worked on a couple of projects in my tenure at GS:1. Enterprise Process Scheduler: Allows scheduling Linux processes on hosts based on a schedule.2. Grid Compute Platform: Worked on an in-house Grid compute platform that allows running lambda functions on a Grid of compute servers through optimal routing.

I did my Bachelors in Instrumentation Engg offered by the Dept of Electrical Engg. Apart from my routine courses I had taken courses on ALGORITHMS,DATA STRUCTURES,OPERATING SYSTEMS etc and have developed a strong penchant for programming.

At CSIO I worked under the guidance of Senior Scientist Chenthamarai Selvam on Building Energy Monitoring and Building automation and later on I had to program the Smartserver module.In a nutshell,I had to build a network of Energy meters based on LonWorks and ModBus Protocol,configure this network,interface this network with SmartServer,aggregate data,store it,publish it and take necessary control action based on Data points value.In the later part of my work I had to create some Applications i.e I had to program the smartserver to lend automation to some electrical actuators.
