Lead Project Designer, Accessible Design TeamMountain Lakes Makerspace Sep 2023 - PresentUnited StatesI have worked to design a way for blind students to learn coding. By creating 3D printed, customizable blocks using braille and using Quorum--a screenreader friendly coding language. My work has been presented to the American Printing House and has been displayed at the ISLAND Conference hosted at Princeton University. I have helped organize and lead a pop-up event at Princeton University's Island Conference: Mountain Lakes Makerspace's NJ Abacus Bee.I have also helped to edit the Mountain Lakes Public Library’s website on Wordpress, using Elementor. I have helped improve a Braille Generator program on OpenSCAD, allowing Braille to be 3D printed much more easily with a better texture.I have also helped edit the Mountain Lakes Public Library's website to add pop-ups for events & newsletters.

Makerspace Project VolunteerMountain Lakes Makerspace Feb 2020 - PresentMountain Lakes, New Jersey, United StatesI 3D-Designed a moving bike that adjusts in size vertically. This is a representation of the story "A Very Tall Man." My work was sent to schools in Kenya, to promote education for blind students, who are unable to access written books. This offers a medium in which students can have their stories come to life beyond what is visual. This work has been used by CloverNook & See3D.Additionally, I have designed 3D planters. These planters can be watered from the bottom hole, so plants can absorb water as needed, helping to avoid over-watering plants. These planters come in various designs, including a frog, cat, dog, bunny, and bear. These planters were sold at the Art at the Esplanade Art Show.I have also led activities in Chess, Minecraft, and Computer Science--leading teams of children ages K-8.

Universal Design InternUniversity Of Colorado Boulder Jul 2022 - Jun 2023Mountain Lakes, New Jersey, United StatesThe University of Colorado's Universal Design Project Program is partnered with Mountain Lakes Makerspace and is sponsored by the Empathy Driven Engineering grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF). Both my projects aim to improve accessibility for the blind and deaf community and are partnered with St Joseph's School for the Blind.I specifically worked on the "Out of My Heart" Tactile book cover, and audiometry set in partnership with Sound Start Babies. The tactile book cover brings the visual element to life for students with blindness, allowing them to experience more of the novel. There are elements of braille, outlines, and tactile sensations for students. The Audiometry Set helps professionals identify the specifics regarding a child's deafness. It is a tool to help educators and medical professionals. We have created an option for students to have custom-made audiometry sets and used 3D printing for this. -
