For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to work with children. Aside from being the neighborhood and family babysitter, I've professionally worked with children since 2012. My career began as being a nanny to four beautiful children, an experience I will forever cherish. From there I began working at Blaisdale Montessori School in 2013 in the toddler room, occasionally working in the casa (preschool room). In 2014, I started to volunteer at FOOTPRINTS4Autism. A respite organization run primarily on the weekends for children who are on the Autism Spectrum. I was given the privilege to be hired as the occasional Program Coordinator, then Program Coordinator, as well as becoming the Program Coordinator for the first "Together We Hang" program. This program was held at the Pickering Library and was for teenagers and youth aged 14-21 who are on the Autism Spectrum to hang together along with myself and the volunteers. Since December 2016, I have been employed with the YMCA of Greater Toronto in the Childcare department. Through the YMCA, I had the privilege of completing my Early Childhood Education diploma through the apprenticeship program. Along with the YMCA sponsoring me for my diploma, I also completed their Supervisor Mentorship Program. In this program, I have learned the several skills it takes to be a Supervisor of a Childcare Center. The YMCA has given me wonderful opportunities and I look forward to the opportunities presented to me in the future. With confidence, I know I am excellent at what I do which is provide a safe, loving, inclusive, and instructive program. I have strong organizational and time management skills, I communicate well and without bias to my fellow coworkers, students and their families. I have strong computer skills and am able to learn thing quite quickly. I have nothing but focus and determination on where it is I want to be in my career.
