Member of Sacramento chapter leadership team. I planned and co-organized the California Election 2020 Data Challenge with the UC Davis DataLab.

I worked as an intern with the California Department of Public Health and the State Building and Constructions Trades Council of California. We examined construction workers' knowledge and concerns about occupational Valley fever. My summer internship resulted in the creation of a training guide in English and in Spanish on preventing Valley fever in the construction industry.

• I was general manager for four months before entering graduate school. During this time I also was acting executive director for two weeks while our executive director was at a training seminar.• As general manager I was responsible for training the new Operations and Volunteer Program Manager and the General Manager who replaced me. I also oversaw the work and instructed three summer interns. • I managed the audition, acceptance, and registration process for almost 300 youth musicians entering the organization. • I located and complied operations manuals to be stored electronically in one location so new employees can easily access them. I also created, defined, planned, and wrote many of the organizational processes myself.• I researched and implemented a new credit card processing system for the organization that saved the time, resources, and money for both staff and parent stakeholders. • I also worked with a volunteer and two web designers to create a new website platform for the organization that will organization the flexibility to manage their own web content saving money and time.

• I was responsible for organizing the logistics for over 500 musicians in either Youth Symphony, Youth Philharmonic, Youth Conservatory Orchestra, Youth Chamber Strings, Honors Orchestra or Prelude Strings. I ensured that the musicians have a smooth and productive rehearsal experience. • I was also responsible for mobilizing and organizing 274 parent volunteers who donated 1700 hours of time to the organization during the 2015-2016 season. I managed GiftWorks, a donor management software, to record and track all volunteer hours. I wrote clear job descriptions for all parent volunteer tasks, created a volunteer handbook for the Omaha Area Youth Orchestras and implemented a new volunteer sign up tool and volunteer hour tracking system. These tools ensured that volunteers felt useful, appreciated, valued and informed.• I planned the logistics for weekly orchestra rehearsals, eight annual concerts, and four retreats. • I was responsible for organizing and maintaining Mailchimp Email Marketing System for clear communication to all parents and musicians regarding rehearsal, concert, and event information. • I directly managed and trained five rehearsal managers who worked weekly with musicians and parents. • I oversaw the organization’s 3 week-long audition process in which over 300 musicians auditioned for placement in one of four orchestra programs.

• Managed the rehearsals for two orchestra ensembles. Ensured that all rehearsals and concerts ran smoothly. This included keeping track of musician attendance, supervising student musicians during rehearsals, breaks, concerts, and events, supervising and organizing parent volunteers, and communicating information to parents and student musicians throughout the season. • Assisted with planning the events for the upcoming season and reserving venues. Used knowledge of Spanish language to assist parents.

• I worked for Barnes and Noble throughout my undergraduate career. I worked at three different locations in Iowa, Nebraska, and Minnesota. I had to opportunity to learn the ins and outs of Barnes and Noble's Business and was able to compare different managing and work styles. Working at Barnes and Noble developed my interest in the study of work and employment, particularly issues in work scheduling.
