I am graduating from Longwood University in August 2020 with a Master of Science degree in mental health counseling from a CACREP accredited program. I will also have 700 hours of clinical experience with children and adolescents who have various mental health diagnoses. I have diverse experience collaborating with families, conducting individual and group counseling sessions, and I believe that every patient deserves individualized help through empathy, understanding, and unconditional positive regard. Throughout my counseling program, I completed my practicum through the Rivermont Autism program where I led individual counseling sessions with adolescents with autism, led social skills activities, and worked on managing behavior issues of the students while in the school setting. I completed my internship at the Discovery School of Virginia for Girls where I conducted individual and group counseling sessions for adolescents to create psychotherapeutic and psychoeducational tools for growth. I also mentored adolescents by practicing nature therapy. Lastly, I have experience composing clinical notes, studying psychological evaluations, and engaging in weekly therapeutic supervision sessions with an LPC. I am passionate about helping children, adolescents, and adults with mental health diagnoses grow into the best versions of themselves. I have a willingness to learn and grow as a competent counselor, high level of self-awareness, and excellent communication skills that will make me a respectful, patient, and empathetic counselor.
