My name is Savannah Sheldon and I am a third year student majoring in psychology and minoring in social work and criminology at North Carolina State University. At NC State, I am an office assistant for the school of social work and a Co-President for NAMI on campus. Additionally, I am a volunteer on the NAMI NC helpline and a member of the next-gen advisory council at NAMI Wake county where I have been able to hear from people around North Carolina to provide them with relevant resources for what they are going through. These opportunities have provided me the opportunity to advocate for wider access to mental health resources and to spread awareness and reduce the stigma.
